I took this about 10 minutes ago in my back garden. I am quite pleased as I haven't had a Robin in my garden for a while and I think this one is moving in. I have a dense bush that is usually full of sparrows but today the bush was singing. When I looked at it I noticed this lovely fellow. I put some meal worms out for him.

I'm calling the Robin male but the sexes are very similar, if not identical, so it is difficult to know if it is a him. Some experts suggest that the brown forehead is "V" shaped in females, and "U" shaped in males. He has a U shaped brown head.

Hi Karan,
I love it when the pair of Robins nest in my garden, even if they sing into the night keeping me up and then sing in the morning waking me up ;)
+++ Gorgeous capture of this cure little Robin with lovely golden lighting which saturates the red on its breast. Great sharpness and detail.
--- Nothing :)
Well done,

Hi Karan

Nice to meet your new friend here...he looks quite charming :)
I really like this photo you took here and aside that the robin is presented with the finest of details i really love all the branches around him; usually i find these elements to be distracting, but for some reason, in this case, i feel they bring natural surroundings to the subject and make it look even better.
Splendid work!

Bravo and TFS

Hi Karan,
It is wonderful to have a male move in to your garden...oops sorry to have a Robin move in to your garden. it will surely give you many great photo opportunities this fall. I hope you will get some great feeder shots but even more nature shots. He sure does look to be a great shape and has a wonderful expression.
Youd di captured him perfectly with great details and very impressive work on the focus. The orange BG is very beautiful and gave the photo a wonderful fresh look.

Hi Karen,
Oh your Robins are so much prettier than ours ( or I think so) Looks so much more like a fat sparrow with a pretty face. You've got a great shot of him in the branches..nice shot. TFS
