This is the first albino grey squirrel I have every seen. There are supposed to be a few around in Surrey and Sussex but they don't tend to live long life spans. The albino squirrels are too noticeable to preditors and they get bullied and driven out by the other squirrels.

This fellow has just moved into the local wildlife centre. He was donated by a rescue centre (the Folly rescue centre in Kent) after he was found in a bad way. Grey Squirrels are regarded as a pest and are controlled in Britain under regulations of the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981). Once taken into captivity grey squirrels cannot be released in captivity without a licence

This shot was taken in heavy rain, he didn't want to come out and I was balancing a large umberella and shooting one handed so I'm amazed I got anything. He has that staring out in the rain expression on his face

Hello Karan

Hey I didn't know they came in white.LOL We have them here as black and grey and they are just as cute as albino white.Nicely done ,I realize you had adversity in trying to get this photo but I think you did a wonderful job.Nicely composed, well focused and with excellent detail.TFS

Hi Karan ,
excellent details with great composition.
colours and sharpness are great too.
well captured
thanks and regards

Hi Karan,
Congratulations! After seeing you patiently waiting in the rain, the "wise" wite squirrel looked out of his "tower"... that must have been a lucky day ;) ...for me, that day was also kind of lucky, but from an "inverted" squirrel ponint of view :D
Thanks for sharing this beautiful and rare picture.
Best regards,

Hi Karan,
that's soooo cute, what a lovely guy - and you captured him just at the right moment.
I've never seen a white one before, very interesting. I saw a black one today, but so shy, no chance to make a shot.
Thanks and bye

Very nice and opportune shot my friend...

I like it a lot: composition, POV, sharpness, colors, DOF, focus, lighting, background, framing.

I like it: notes.

I don't like it: nothing to grumble.

Really an unusual specimen depicted in a very attractive scene.
Best regards... Ricardo

Hi Karan,
Great shot of this albino squirrel!
You must be glad to have had this picture, under that conditions! Very steady pulse!
Excelent the POV to catch the moment just leaving their hole.
The detail and color on the eye is so good.
Congratulations and thanks for share.
Best regards,

Hi Karan.
Really unique shot of this seldom phenomenon. You managed to reflect it perfectly. Amazing reproduction of all features and beauty of the squirrel. Colours and texture are reproduces with great skillfulness and exactness. Bravo. Excellent godsend for any photographer. Best regards and TFS.

Hi Karan,
nice detailed capture of this unusual albino, I have seen the odd one or two in the wild but never got near enough for a shot. There are also the odd one or two black variants of the grey squirrel around, particularly in Kent, which I have managed to get the odd shot of.

Hi Karan

Thanks for sharing this lovely little guy, I too have never seen an Albino Squirrel, you've managed a great shot in difficult conditions, I like the pose with him peeping out of the hole, maybe decided wheter or not to go out in the rain, nice details and great colours, love the pinky blue eye.

TFS Hilary :o)

Wow Karan! LOL... I like the way he is popping out from the hole and those great details you caught. This is not a specie that you see often, in fact; I think this is the first time I see one like this. This composition, colors, exposure and POV are very good. I'm amazed that you took this picture with only one hand; you are a circus creature :) It must have been interesting to see you shooting him ;) Well done with great notes. Thanks,

Hello Karan,
What a sight! I have never seen anything like that before. Quite amazing. Cute pose of that little guy sticking out of his hole.
Good details and light, especially considering your shooting conditions.
TFS. : )

Hello Karan,
It is rare to see a perfect albino like this, with bright white fur and pink eyes!
The funny expression is well captured, and hopefully the little guy will survive for a while under protected conditions...
Nicely composed image!

Hello karan !
For me it's also the first time I see an albino squirrel. It is really an unusual and probably rare animal. Anyway, he is very cute and you have captured him at the best moment, when he is peeking out. Excellent details, beautiful composition and POV, natural colors, excellent exposure. very well done !

Hi Karan,
What a amazing shot... I really like the composition and the POV. Great details and excellent DOF. Beautifull capture of this rare animal and great job!

G'day Karan
Albino squirrels ah!!!
How did you find out about this one.
When I was a kid growing up in Maidestone (Kent), there was one living within Happy Valley. He to was taken in and survived for numerous seasons.
TFS Paul

Hi Karan,
I've never seen a albino squirrel before. I've seen it with tamed rabits, but never a wild animal. I really hope that it will have a long life, since most of the time these animals have a low rate of survival. You captured this squirrel perfectly with spot on exposure and great details.

I just saw the news about the stromboli vulcane errupted again. I do hope that it will be save when you are going to visit it.

Fantastic shot of this little guy. Great detail in the eye and whiskers. Very nice composition. TFS

Hi Karan,
This is outstanding - an albino squirrel!
