[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Where is the best place to grow? Well if you want to survive in a tree less environment, in a very windy glen, maybe not growing on a rock.

Taken on Christmas Day 2005, I was looking for a replacement tree to photograph for my favourite loch, after the last tree died after loosing its crown. I came across this one. If it lives long enough, it is in just the right place to photograph with the mountains in the background. But I'm not sure I am counting on its survival...

The colour of the loch's water in the background is the afternoon sunlight (1hr from setting) reflecting off the dead bracken on the mountain opposite....

The picture was taken in .RAW, converted, resized and sharpened and bordered. Colours are real and untouched.

A bien y regarder, je me suis souvent émerveillée de voir qu'il ne faut en fait pas grand chose pour qu'une fleur ou même un arbre grandissent !!! Encore merci de nous montrer toute la force de Dame Nature.

great tree with great colours!
Good note!
the composition, idea and details are good!

Hi Emma,
I'm still very busy, so have no time for a longer visit to TN.
Very good capture, and as always good details, colours, sharpness and composition.

This is really incredible! This cold frozen stone, you can almost feel the pain of the tree, and the oranje-juice-like color of the water. Very strange photo.

This is what I love about photography... at first glace, I thought... "shame on her for making that water such a fake orange." But you say that it's the real color, and I believe you.. but you captured it in such a way that there's magic in it. It's not just a picture... it's something that draws you in and makes you stop for a moment to look at it and enjoy it. Great job capturing one of those rare, beautiful moments in nature!
