Good pose you captured, I like the silvery light reflections on the waves.
This is a "great crested grebe" (Podiceps cristatus), dt. Haubentaucher. A little lake near where I live has a breeding pair that returns each year; today I saw them starting their nest-building in their usual place again.

Nice natural shot of the Great Crested Grebe. This is one of the birds on my wish list. We have Crested Grebe in the South Island of New Zealand and last year when on a two week holiday in the Sth Island I went looking, found them, but they would come close enough to be photographed :-(
