I set out to get an unusual close up of these birds. I sat beside them, just near the Exe river bank and just kept on clicking. I hope that you like this.

Critique... ok, nice close in composition with some strong vertical lines. The water droplets add a little extra interest, and the light adds warmth. Little bit too much coloured noise in the shadow areas, I'm guessing that you have lightened them up, also the focus would have been better on the eye rather then behind it.

good shot but needs
a little more interest in it.
The beak should be fully exposed and it should be sharper.
