Young Rabbit, Oryctolagus cuniculus, watching the sun set up on Hartland Moor near Wareham in Dorset.

With the wind in my face, and the low sun behind me I was confident that the rabbits would not be aware of my presence tucked under a gorse bush a few metres from their burrows. Sure enough, after a few minutes waiting the rabbits came back out again, and resumed feeding. One "snap" from the shutter sent them all running back for cover, except for this one which sat there, trying so see where the sound was coming from, only about 6 feet away from me.

Hi Miles. Very well arranged photo of this rabbit. Good lighting and colours. The eye is very clear and this helps the end result a lot. Good work. TFS. Murray.

Bonjour,

In the morning the light is very low and bring this nice red colour, but it's not easy to get something sharp with this light but you did it. TFS.

Hi Miles

Beautiful light in the shot. Love the wee bunny! If that was here, someone would have shot it by now :-(

Lovely capture... the lighting makes it all happen. His/her pose reminds me of a chocolate Easter Bunny. Beautiful colors and detail, especially the eye. TFS, Mish

I stumbled across this image in a random search for images from Dorset (because I have flowers shot in Bournemouth that I cannot identify !!!!). The image per se is delightful: wonderful colours, light, comp are all perfect (of course!!!!!!), but what really delighted me is the wonderful coincidence of dates -- you happened to post this on my birthday. What fun!
