[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was quite surprised to capture one of these in flight, they are quite fast and can dart about in different directions if they see the slightest movement near to them. This one was just about to land on some flowers in the garden.

The Marmalade Hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus) is a regular migrant to the British Isles, sometimes arriving in dense swarms. The eyes of the males touch in the middle and the double striped markings make this species quite easy to identify (saying that,I hope I got my identification correct on this one!).

Great capture of which you may well be proud, the action is nicely frozen and focus spot on. Pity it didn't have a cleaner background to set it off more, but we can't have everything in this world ;-)

Nice work Andy, I'm very jealous. I keep trying for a shot like that but they are never good enough. Well done.

Great action shot with excellent DOF. Points tomorrow

Very good capture Andy.
Nice composition too, It's a good speed shot. Good colours too, very good job

Impressive macro, with good colors, but I think the wasp is too centered in your composition. Just my humble opinion :-)

Great action shot with good DOF

Hi Andy, this is neat to be able to catch these flying F16's like this. I actually qiute like it. I did a WS, just out of curiosity. The file was a bit small, but maybe you like the diagonal I putin.

Good macro composition.
Nice sharpness and good colors.
Well done.

Nice picture of this flying hoverfly Andy. With a shutter speed on only 1/250 sec. you have managed very well freezing the movement.- Well done.

Andy, Very nice capture. More clarity of the wings would have made this perfect. But all and all a nice photo, I like it. Nice note too. Thanx for sharing.

Very good job Andy "freezing" it in the classical hovering position in front of the purple flower. Colors are a standout, and the DOF is very good too. Beautiful work.

Andy, a colorful and great shot.

Indeed, they are difficul to capture, but you did great.

And I find it suprising you got this sharp even by using only 1/210. Well done.
