[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A mother Amur Tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) and her cub out enjoying the afternoon sunshine. This was taken at Marwell Zoo in Hampshire on a freezing cold winters day, where we spent all day waiting by the side of the tiger enclosure, hoping for a glimpse of the cubs. Having arrived when the Zoo opened at 10am, the cubs finally came out for a few minutes at around 2pm for just a few minutes play around before going back inside the den. Having taken their photos and bearing in mind that the temperature was down at freezing, most people left to go home. I decided to wander a little further up the zoo instead, and later as I wandered back towards the car park just before closing time I say the cubs emerging into the low angled winter sunlight again. With hardly anyone else there, the cubs came out into probably the most perfectly lit area of the enclosure ...

So tender moment here!
I like so much the colour saturation used here, and the vivid tones got.
Details on the mother and curb are so clear and sharp, the low light made wonders!

Hi Miles, lovely composition here showing great affection from the mother to her cub. You certainly worked hard to get this shot, and it was worth it. The light is indeed perfect complimenting the Tiger's colours, nice and sharp but most of all a superb composition.
