The Valley. From Castell Dinas
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Dinas Bran Castle (Castell Dinas Bran) is both a hillfort and medieval castle. The oldest and probably originator of a settlement which is now Llangollen, the Iron Age defences and medieval castle are located high above the town on a rectangular platform.|
Legend has it that the original fortress was built by a Prince named Bran and came to live there following a disagreement with his brother Beli.
The mother of these two quarrelling brothers was Corwena, whose home was situated near the modern town of Corwen a few miles away. The castle is also known as the 'Grail Castle' due to its legendary links with the Holy Grail.
I have used just a touch of HDR on this pic to bring out the details. Combined 3 jpegs in a program called photmatix.

Don't forget to include a note Ian. There are lots of members who will not even critique an image without a note... as it is a TrekNature requirement. It can be most anything... how you came to take the photo, where the scene is located in reference to where you live, photographing details and techniques, geology and/or history of the area, what essence/mood you were trying to capture etc, etc.
I really like the composition you chose and the nice patterns and colors. I sense a bit of HDR here. I'm still trying to come to terms with that process.
