Firstly, thankyou to everyone who critiqued my first photo with my 400D yesterday :) You were all very kind and encouraging :)

I took this the same day as the Mallard I posted yesterday. Sadly just after I took the duck photo the sun hid behind the clouds again. But now I could use the higher ISO on my DSLR that I couldn't use on my S3 IS due to excessive noise, so it was alright :)
I went down to an area of the river which had flooded into a park. It happens almost every year and Canada Geese flock to the flooded areas for some un-known reason. I decided to have a go at photographing the Geese. The problem was, I only had a 18-55mm lens so I would have to get really close. Frustratingly the Geese swam away but three of them got caught in the current and floated back my way; just in reach of my small lens.
As I was photographing these Canada Geese, the sun decided to appear again and it streamed through the clouds properly (with heat and bright light) for the first time in weeks, sending a sparkly light across the scene. For me it was a really tranquil with the warm wind and golden light (hence the title).

I hope you like this one.

p.s there is a large post if you would like to see it :)

Hi Joe,

Very nice shot with your new equipment, the LP-version is really nice.
I like the low POV and the good DOF you have here.
Well done, young friend.
I'm waiting for more from the new toy.

Hi Joe

I really like backlit shots - this is a really good one - I like the strong contrast and the silhouetted geese.

Hi Joe,

It really is a peaceful scene! Nice silhouettes of the three and the ripples in the water are wonderful. You really are trying new things with your new equipment.

Hi Joe,
good to see you experimenting with the new toy, this one's a nice one too. The back lighting works nicely and has given you some really nice silouettes. LP version looks great! Hopefully not too long until you can get the 300mm eh??

Hi Joey, as the sun is so scarce these days, this is warmly welcome and a warm image to post! I like your description of the moment, and this is a beautiful picture. Love the silhouettes and the brightness of the sun in the water. Fine composition too, with the three graces floating happily. Thank you!

Hello Joe,
Lovely image my friend, the liquid silver coming from the two left geese is wonderful, very well named as well.
Goose- Geese
Grouse- Grouse,lol
Rick

For me, there is great artistic value in this capture, Joe.
I like the silhouttes of the three ducks gliding on the flood water. As such, looking for details on them would be pointless.
In find your smaller version more satisfying from my point of view.
Well done and TFS.
