I know its another Robin but i took this one on Sunday . Now and again you get a picture you really like yourself and as soon as i saw this one i liked it. I know its not perfect and i would have rather have seen it on a branch, but he was guarding the food i put out from the other birds . He was happy to let me get very close.

Robin ( Erithacus rubecula ) Length 14cm.
The Robin is one of the most familiar and popular garden Birds of all. The Robin is an aggressive species with the males sometimes fighting to the death to defend their territory.
The male and female are almost identical with brown crown, wings, upperparts and tail, a grey band along the sides of the breast, white belly and the famous red breast which is actually a deep orange colour. Juvenile Birds can cause confusion as they lack red in their plumage, being a rather dull spotty brown in colour.
Robins sing all year round, defending summer and winter territories with their fluty melodic song.
The Robin can be found in almost every garden as it is one of the tamest Birds, happily feeding alongside humans as they work. They will often take live food such as Earthworms or Mealworms from the hand.
Breeds from March to August building a cup shaped nest from grass and leaves lined with hair. Lays 4-6 pale blue-white eggs lightly spotted with red and incubates for 13-15 days. The young fledge after 12-14 days. They often have two broods

Hi Nick
I dont know what can I critique here ;-) Sharpness, compo, background Everything is perfect

Hello Nick
In my book never even go half way near an apology for posting a Robin picture as fine as this.
The detail lighting and pose are just superb..The Background really makes him stand out in the frame.
Its perfect work Nick..I really like your note about his behaviour as well...I have now 2 Robins that sing for me in my car park at work for food and they stand at my feet as I feed them...I know it sounds corny but I do think they will eat out of my hand soon!!
Great Post and Tfs

Hi Nicholas!

Don't apologize for "another" Robin. There aren't any common and boring things or animals on our planet. Just boring humans...

Moreover, your picture is marvellous, a real "nglen", just as we like them. The sharpness, and especially the clarity are very impressive. And the overall atmosphere due to the warm colors is so pleasant.

Kind regards

Hola Nicholas, gran luz y estupendo enfoque para esta preciosa fotografía. Color quizá algo subido. Eres un maestro con las aves; yo solo puedo con las grandes como los cisnes jajaja.

Hi Nick,
ithin this one is one of your best. Technically it is excellent and yet you still have cuaght some of the charatcer of the Robin. Well done mate, first class.

Hi Nick,

I know what you mean. Sometimes you just know when you've captured somethig special. I know that it's not on a branch, but it is what it is, and it's interesting. I like the fact that there's food on the post and the Robin's looking at it. It's technically perfect and actually quite beautiful.

Hello Nick
They are always also beautiful these small robins.
Thank you for beautiful clearness
