Hello,

it's been raining pretty much all weekend so far, so i thought i would dip into my archives and share something fron a moment when there was actually some decent sunshine, last summer.
This is The Pulpit Rock, a much photographed spot lying at the very southern tip of the Isle of Portland in Dorset. The diagonal slab of limestone leaning up against the Pulpit Rock itself is not natural, but was placed there by quarrymen many years ago when i believe there was crane mounted up there which was used to load the stone onto barges. These days it's a just an airy fishing spot with great views up and down the coast.

Thanks for looking..

Hola Paul.
Una imagen preciosa, finamente captada con todo detalle. Genial perspectiva y PoV.
Un cordial saludo, Jl.

The wonderful light is as much the subject as the great rock formations. The more saturated central part of the sky from the polarizer is a little distracting. It is hard to avoid on a horizontal image. It is a super composition.

Hi Paul!

It's simply beautiful. The lighting and the colors make this picture an outstanding one. I love the foreground with the great details very much. The long exposure gives a special effect to the water.

Beautiful!

Kind regrads

Markus

Hi Paul,
spectacular image - the contrast of cold blue waters and red rocks at sunset is amazing. Your wide angle is sucking me right into the scenery. Long time exposure is showing smoothly moving waters running against seemingly eternal solid rocks in a magnificent way.
Thank you! With best regards,
Peter

Hi Paul,

Hi Paul

Superb, well balanced composition with geat colour and movement. The use of the rock in the foreground to focus the viewer's attention on the rock is excellent.

Wow Paul! check out the difference in light from one season to another...and this has its special quality because of time of day as well as latitude. What a grand sight to see...You are gonna make me wish I had millions to spent on travel...beautiful country you have there...

A good scene of strong sedimentary rocks leaning towards the sea Paul, with some help from the wide angle lens, obviously a pre-sunset capture of warm colors and beautiful greens. TFS my friend.

Hi Paul,
Mate I must have missed this one along the way, what an amazing shot, just awesome, excellent d.o.f, wonderful POV, the colours are un-real just beautiful, composition and framing perfect, great work mate, all the best Cheers Rick :)

Hallo Paul
The extreme wide-angle works well with these huge rocks. The composition is very good, and I really like the combination of browns, blues and green and all other in between. This is really a great shot and can easily go through as a place out of a fantasy world or destination. I think most people have said what needs to be said about this picture, so I'll just add that this is a PPPP – Pretty perfect picture photo. Great shot, and I like the title too. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

Hello Paul,
Difficult to realise that these are limestone cliffs when caught in the redness of the setting sun!
Superb composition and placing of the horizon and excellent POV to show Pulpit Rock at its best.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful image and I hope the weather will be kinder for you over Easter!

Hi Paul

This is another superb shot from you archives my friend and another reason for me to think that my trip to England is way too short :))
A splendid sunset captured here with that very warm evening light hitting these rocks and bringing out the best in their colors.
The Pulpit looks great - sandwiched between the 2 beautiful blues of the sea and sky and placed very well, a little off-centered, in the composition.
I also like how the vertical cliff on the left sort of continues with almost the same tones over the horizon to the right...it balances the image so well in my opinion.
Overall, a stunning shot in every aspect, my friend!

BRAVO, TFS and take care
Horia

Woww, What great and warm colours on this one !!!
Splendid point of view and wonderfull composition
a great cheer my friend,
Pat

Hello Paul,
The warm light really makes those cliffs stand out!
Good point of view and a fine composition, as always good lines...
Fine details and strong foreground interest creates a great feeling of depth!

Hello Paul,
What a stunning capture of this dramatic coastline caught at sunset. The late sunshine hitting the cliffs and turning them into gold is really fabulous! I like the wet sea-weed covered rock in the foreground too and the lovely colour of the water. Brilliant and very well-timed sunset shot!
Many thanks and cheers, Ulla

Hi Paul.
Once more so impressive shot with amazing low and warm sunlight, terrific aperture value and long exposure time. Great effect of frozen water surface, crisp sharpness of the rocks and wonderful almost clean blue-orange sky. My compliments and TFS.
