[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

This is looking west at Ringstead Bay, near Weymouth in Dorset. I was in dire need of a good walk and some fresh air last night, so myself and some friends headed here to catch the last of the days sun. There's not much going on here apart from sea and sky really, but it's the only thing i've been able to get that's recent so i thought i'd share it with you all anyway, hope you like it.

It's great now we're heading into summer and photography is no longer confined solely to the weekends...

PP: Shot in RAW, highlights reduced a touch, curves, converted to JPEG, resized and sharpened.

Thanks for looking.

Nice colour balance, good shade, water almost like a fog, I wonder how it would looks like when shutter speed was 3 sec..:)
TFS, Cheers

Hi Paul!

Isn't it a bit a different style? It's more romantic, the blurred, fog-like water and the lighting adds to the mystic atmosphere. The colours are superb, and the low point of view with the detailed foreground is the unmistakable signature of the artist PaulH!

Kind regards

Hi Paul,
Another heavenly captured seascape. Excellent composition, colors and view. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hats off to you, Paul! You do it over and over again...
I need to learn a lot from you...Hopefully when and if you come to India.

This is truly your specialty and also the other one whose name escapes me but he was publsihed Signal something....forgive me for forgetting...The mag is in the other room...but I do notice a penchant for English to do this type of image which I can tell you right now would take me gear, money, a plane flight and sever weeks of experimenting to figure out....Very nicely done as all of yours in this area are.

Beautiful shot! Good choice of shutter speed to get such a ilky feeling.

Hi Paul, The sun lit rocks add much to this image. I like how those in the FG are reflecting the sunset colors. You have a great POV of them and have composed the image with your usual excellence giving a fine sense of depth and drama. Well done.
Tfs Richard

Woooow! This is really stunning, Paul!
Markus has got it spot-on... this one has a strong romantic feel about it. It's the swirling misty water contrasting with the deep red sky and wispy clouds that does it, I guess.
Stunning light and colours.
Impeccable composition.
Exceptional clarity and detail.
Really, very well done!!

Cheers mate,

Hi Paul

Good news! Days are getting longer :) More photo opportunities when i go there for me :)
How are you, my friend? I hope the whole moving thing is going well for you :)

Sometimes, especially after work, a beautiful sunset and the coast is all you need to feel better and relax. And this is exactly that.
I have to say that i really should learn a thing or two from you when it comes to horizontal landscapes...somehow i'm not happy with how mine turn out, when as yours are so great!
This one too has everything as it should have. A superb composition with the sun positioned just well, terrific FG elements and good use of the rule of the thrids.
The colors are stunning and the contrast of temperatures between the sky and the water and wet rocks is great yet again. Very good choice of exposure parameters as well - with just enough motion blur on the water...truly spot-on!
I really can't wait to get around and again i find myself praying for weather just like in this photo :)
Very well done!

Bravo and TFS

Hi Paul, Quite a wonderful image. I can't find a thing to critique other than to congratulate you.

Hi Paul,
The effects on the water and the FG rocks make this image stricking. Great colours on the sky and the dying sun does create a stunning effect. Excellently chosen low POV to portray this charming scene and very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hello Paul,
As ever your pictures make a deep print in my spirit. What a peaceful delight to see them with that personal touch of yours! I don't know how you do it but it's like poetry in image and color. I'm really impressed and delighted.
Thank you very much for sharing your art.
Best regards

Hi Paul, splendid sea view with fascinating sunset, superb colors and great exposure, very well done, ciao Silvio

A beautiful sunset which looks as if there is a smoking volcano far away somewhere Paul, a nice effect amigo, since the sea in the foreground looks as if boiling, the doing of a loong exp. time! Thanks to your wide angle lens, the depth of the focal zone is tremendous, as usual. TFS indeed!

Hi Paul,
Yep, the days are getting longer now, more time to shoot!
An excellent composition..Just the right time, as the sun gives it up for the day. It definitely helped to balance out the exposure well..I like the last light from the sun as it hits your rocks FG too, and the one second effect :)
Very well done & have a nice weekend mf,
