Another very interesting insect found by the pond in Rozel Bay, Jersey.
Species from Diptera family, but I coudn't find the proper name of this one, unfortunatelly I don't have any literature abaout them.
Never seen before such a colourful fly. Weather was fantastic that day, hot summer afternoon with strong light, no wind. Surrounding area was full of life- thousends of flies, beattles, butterflies and other small creatures. Perfect condition for macro hunt.

If You have any ideas what kind of Diptera is this, please write.
Cheers and have a good day!

Update: It's probably fly from Tachinid family: Ectophasia sp. -Great thanx for Mariki for information.

Hello Adrian,

Very nice composition. Good POV, DOF and sharpness. Great colours. Not an easy picture to get with such a harsh light, but you did it well. No time to look for the ID now. If nobody has found it yet when I am back, I will try to find it.
Cheers,
Mariki

Hola Adrian, muy bonita composición, nitida y buen color. Un saludo

Hallo Adrian
Your images are razor sharp and reflect great detail and focus, and this colourful fly is no exception. I think this image deserves each smiley awarded. You have captured this fly clarity. The markings and patterns on the body are so beautiful and impressive. The yellow flower it is sitting on is bright and sunny and the combination of colours of the fly and the flower is super. Your framework is splendidly done and your display is excellently handled. Thanks for sharing, and have an enjoyable day.
Best regards
Anna

Hi Adrian.
What an interesting specimen you managed to catch. Its colouration is superb and unusual for me. I also like great DOF and level of sharpness of the flowers and its cute visitor. BG is fine too as well as the framing and POV. Well done and best regards.
Alexei.
P.S. I am very pleased with your nice comments and interest. Thanks.

Witam Adrianie!
Calkiem ciekawa mucha (rzeczywiscie to najpewniej Tachinidae), uchwycona "face-to-face" :)
Troche wkradly sie szumy i mam wrazenie, ze saturacja jest odrobine za mocno podciagnieta, ale generalnie bardzo fajna fotka :)
Pozdrawiam z Lodzi,
Radek
