Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you have had an enjoyable weekend.
For once, I can report that we had lovely warm, sunny weather in England!

This morning, I am posting a shot of bee. I watched it for several minutes moving around the lupin flowers. It struggled to open the petals initially but then became more adept. I wonder if they have to learn how to deal with different petal types, just as a we all have to learn new skills.

I had to laugh. Here he was, using the equivalent of the tradesman's entrance to get to the nectar and pollen!

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. :-)

What a fluffy bee he is Bev.
Perhaps he is a novice see and still learning the ropes on how to get where he should!!
Good shot, very impressive photo.
And don't worry about the warm weather - it's improving down here. And I'm pleased you had a good weekend.

Hello Bev,
Though a little soft, this is a fine capture of a Ginger-coloured Bumblebee that I believe is Bombus pascuorum.
Your observations about how it gets at the pollen and nectar are interesting and indeed some cheat by forcing their way into the flower: good title!
Thanks for sharing this fine contribution,
Have a good week,

Hi Beverley!

Well, I guess there's no right or wrong way for that bee to get what it wants!

Nice notes for a nice picture that lacks a little bit of sharpness. But this is well compensated by the overall atmosphere, the fine lighting and the beautiful colours.

Kind regards

Hi Bev, lovely busy bee with good focus, great details and excellent sharpness, wonderful soft colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

Beverly Robinson, HI. Nice to hear that it is nice and sunny in England. Lancashire is a beautiful county and I spent two years close to it in Lytham St Annes for my A-level. I can tell you that the sun was rather tricky there at times. This macro work is brilliant. Very good lighting exposing the uback against fine lighting. Well framed against muted background. Well done and TFS. Regards. Jusni

Hello Bev,
This is an interesting composition in beautiful colours! A well-timed capture of the Bee showing its wings in a fine position. It is a bit 'soft' but it does look lovely and fluffy!! I remember seeing them struggling on the Lupins in my previous garden!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla
