[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

This was taken at Brandy bay a little further up the coast from kimmeridge bay and broadbench, and it lies within the MOD firing range.

Brandy bay gets its name from its strong associations with smuggling.

It was very very cold and i really couldnt feel my own fingers whilst taking this, plus it really was very dark, making this a pretty tricky shot to take.

Anyway, i know its not perfect but i wanted to post something before the new year.

Thanks for looking, and all the best for next year.

Hi Ewan

Wonderful light here, beautifully composed and great POV. I love the wonderful rock formations in the foreground. Lovely work

This is a very effective shot! The composition was chosen perfectly, as it adds a lot of character and depth to the image, I like how that ball in the foreground adds a little extra colour to the shot. Overall, you've done a great job!

Hi Ewan

This is really good! A wonderful seascape, my friend!
You did well to focus your attention on these rocks in the FG - all their cracks a fissures attract loads of attention and give a bit more dynamisms to this otherwise calm setting.
The colors everywhere are gorgeous - not only over the horizon, but also on the rocks, where i see that thanks to a good white balance setting you managed to get a very wide tone palette (from very warm colors to cool ones).
Overall: a lovely shot!

Cheers, TFS and Happy New Year!

Great perspective, framing and light, with a very well placed buoy in the foreground - good composition.

Hi Ewan,
The red dot in the thumbnail caught my attention so I had to figure out what it was.
I like the warm feel of the photo and vertical presentation a lot. The lines from the rock are all very powerful. The colors in the sky are just awesome. The photo does feel to be soft in focus though.

Hi Ewan,

I really like your image and like the way the rocks form an arrow pointing right to the setting sun. The light is lovely and you managed it well. That lens is a photographer's friend. I love all the varied compositions that the rocky coast of England affords. Be sure to resharpen your images after resizing them for TN.
