Hello,

hope you're all well, thought i'd drop in and share something from a week or so ago during a trip i took to find some Puffins along the south coast.
Whilst i was unsuccessful in finding any of these elusive seabirds, i did have a good rummage around on the rocks by the water to see what i could find.
This is looking southwest out into the English Channel, where a Limestone pillar sits precariously just above the waves.
Winspit was once a working quarry where the local stone was extracted for building. Now it is a haven for seabirds, Lizards, Deer, Badger and Foxes.
It's relatively remote position along the coast ensures it stays fairly quiet and it's mostly walkers and climbers who visit here now.

Thanks for looking, i'm going to have a look now and see what you've all been up to..

Excellent and one of the best landscapes that I have seen. This shot has mark of technical brilliance. F/22 to get this great dof coupled by 1/3 of sec to get movement of the waves , its a nice example that can be used in photography workshops!!

perfect, nothing else to say!!

Hi Paul!

This is a great moment for me - you are back! I'm glad that you have dropped in and I just hope that this is comeback...

Although you have been absent for a while, I have immediately recognized your style. What a pleasure to see this low point of view again, the unique perspective and the rich detailed foreground! Moreover, the dynamics created by the wave and the delicious sky is wonderful, too.

Thank you for this!

Kind regards

Markus

Wow, what strength in this picture, it is incredibly powerful! I love the wet rocks at the foreground, mainly the ones with moss and mixed with the others... then you go a little further and you see waves crashing on some other big rock. The splash and then, wow! The sky and the big rocky hill (is it what you call limestone pillar, I think it is). Frankly, this is really a superb picture, as much as for the composition, what it shows but also everything it evokes, the powerfulness of life, the strength and the longevity of the rocks. There are so many symbols in there. Thank you!

Francine
