Really a great shot Stephen. Very good light, wonderful colours (just look at these eyes) and perfect dof. I like the way the composition splits the picture by diagonal in a sharp part and a blurred part. Well done.

Hi Stephen!
I love this shot- especialy eyes! They are absolutely amazing! Thanks

Hi Stephen, good shot of the good sh*t fly! Pretty good for F5.6 and I see you were battling against the light so not much room for more DOF. Nice composition, well done.

Hi Stephen,
Exquisite photo. When we see the world from a close-up, we realize its otherwise unseen mysterious beauty, such as this fly that feeds on insects on a heap of dung...

Hello Stephen,

A lovely macroshot. Good details, great colors and well composed. DOF is a little shallow. I hear you should use f7, f9, f11 or even f14 in macroshots. I guess such a long dof was impossible under the light conditions, right? Good POV too. Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Strong visual impact.
Aptness of the photo for the site: excellent.
Personal assessment of the note: complete.
TFS.
Have a good Sunday!

The composition, colours and lighting a very, very nice. The golden glowing aspect is superb, it looks like a jewell. I am taking very much into account your use of the 18-55 to make macros. Next week I will have my first serious attempt with the new cam, and I will remember to try it. Thanks for posting.
