[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,

I call this butterfly 'The White Streak' since I have been unable to find its correct name. I would appreciate any help from someone who can recognise it.

I captured it in the butterfly house, at an owl and otter reserve, in the New Forest. I'm pretty sure it's not British as I cannot find it in my 'Native Butterflies of Britain'.

I loved the way it spread its wings like a huge cloak, and twitched its antennae.

Many thanks for your stopping by.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

Hi Beverley. I have had a look in a book i have but nothing like this . I think i saw one like it in the London Buuterfly house when it was open. Are the wings damaged do you think. Any way. Taken with good detail and natural looking colours. I like the top POV. well done TFS.

Hi Bev,

I haven't a clue as to what it is except it's a butterfly, I assuume that it was taken at a butterfly farm or simular. Good focus on the body, slightly out of focus on the right wing tip, f/9 may have cured it. Good colours, the leaf details are also good.

TFS regards Bill

Hello Beverley, Looks like papillio family. The shot looks as if the butterfly is ready to take off to a destination. Well captured and framed. Well done Ganesh

Hi Bev :)

Lovely capture of the adorable butterfly!
The sharpness and POV are perfect, and so are colors in the picture. The great contrast between the butterfly's colors and the green-colored leaf, is wonderful.
Great composition!

Have a nice weekend.

best regards,

Hello Beverley
A nice close up that shows good detail of this colourful butterfly. The green leaf is a nice compliment colour to the dark coloured wings. He's a real beauty. Excellent DOF and composition.
