[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dunnock (Prunella modularis) in the late November sunshine. Despite being a common bird this is the first shot I have taken of it that I am happy with. This is mainly because by nature it is a skulky bird, normally foraging at ground level or in hedges and scrub. This one decided to spend a minute or two in clear view in the sunshine, giving me a good opportunity to capture several shots.

This shot was taken next to the RSPB visitor centre at Radipole, Weymouth. My wife and I were able to get to the reserve because, after nearly 4 months, our new car has finally arrived! ;p It was great to be able to get out and about after so long. We had a good day out, spotting 4 Bearded Tits and a Slavonian Grebe - rare birds in our part of the world (no shots of these unfortunately).

The pale blue background in the picture is not the sky but the water of the River Wey. The image has been cropped and sharpened.

You can read more about Dunnocks on this page of the RSPB site.

Kind Regards

Vinny www.vincentblood.com

Hi Vinny. We have a pair that live in the garden and seem to have got use to us being around. You use the small amount of sunlight we have had to taken this fine close up of this Dunnock. Fine detail and natural colours.
Well taken TFs.

hi vinny
superbe image de cet accentueur, oiseau commun mais que peu de personnes connaissent. Excellente netteté associée à une belle luminosité.

Hi Vinny.
Simply amazing shot of a charming bird. I like all components of photo skill. Composition is blameless, details are fantastic as well as exposure of the image and colour reproduction. BG, its delicate colour palette and blurriness are superb too. Bravo. Well done.
