This was taken yesterday afternoon on a pretty exhausting trek from Lulworth Cove to Durdle door.

Man o War Bay lies immediately west of durdle door, and in fact the larger rock formation you see in this shot is the rear side of the door.

I was determined to get some exercise this weekend even though we were forecast more grey drab weather, and so i was pleasantly surprised by this colourful sunset.

Thanks for looking

Hi Ewan,

Brilliant seascape photo. The colours are great, the cold of the sea contrasting with the warm sun. Nice long exposure for milky sea effect and nicely silhouetted land. The rock adds good foreground interest.
Great capture and TFS

Glad you got the exercise, Ewan! A lovely scene to begin with, I'm sure, but really enhanced by your sunset presentation and the long exposure. The results are quite striking and nicely executed.

Excellent landscape with fine colors and contrast. I liked the foreground very much, so lively. tfs.

Hi Ewan.

Beautiful landscape and amazing on how you keep the angle low with well metered slow shutter. Stunning effect against the vibrant sunset sky.

Well done and TFS.

Hello Ewan,
Incredibly beautiful image with a nice soft blur to the wave action. The gorgeous colors of the water seem to just blend together with the sandy beach.
The silhouetted mountains create a strong framing point which draws your eyes attention towards the horizon. Wonderful detail with perfect exposure. Great work!!

Hi Ewan,

The least I have to say this photo's fantastic. Absolutely artistic and quite masterful. Wonderful composition, very well chosen shutter speed - You've managed to capture milk instaed of water. :) Brilliant job. Bravo.

Before reading the note, I thought the pic was entitled after the US heavy metal band Manowar. :)

Best regards from Hungary, László

Hi Ewan and nice to see a newer post from you.

Firstly, i see you've upgraded your kit...very impressive!!! I wish you all the best with it and many many superb moments to capture!
Secondly, this is a lovely, dramatic seascape from you. The light of the setting sun is very well balanced here by the two filters and allow for a better mood and a brighter foreground. These two last elements really make this photo special and attract more attention.
I like your composition, too - with the rock and foam around it to link the viewer with the general scene.
Very nice work, all around!

Bravo and TFS

Oh, and thirdly, many many thanks for your honest input in your last critiques on my photos. It's really great to get something else than just meaningless praise. I really do appreciate it!

Hi Ewan,
I see you got yourself the best camera possible for landscape photography. I surely envy you and hope that it will suit your hobby well. It certainly produced a wonderful result with great exposure and very beautiful color contrast between the warm sky and cool blue foam. The filters certainly did their job wel in keeping the bright sun in good exposure. This one is really beautiful and the others on your site as well.
