|Taken on the same day as the Brimstone, this Common Blue (Polyommatus icarus) gave me the opportunity to capture it on top of this complimentary plant. Its common in grassy places and widespread in mainland Britain and parts of Ireland. It flies from April to September in successive broods. The male has blue upperwings, females being generally brown.|
This has been cropped, levels adjusted, and a high pass filter (2.8) applied.

I don't know why we haven't met yet here on TN. Today, during the lunchbreak at my office, I have visited your gallery and discovered a lot of beautiful pictures. Their quality and diversity is impressive. I have stopped at your last post because it would be difficult to make up a choice. I like the vertical composition in this picture very much, it suits the subject. The butterfly is shown in a pleasant manner with quite good sharpness.
A nice capture of this beautiful common blue over the nice looking flowers. Very well composed with sharp details. Thanks a lot for sharing.
