[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken in my garden were I have a pair of Great Tits nesting. I had to wait and see where the common perching site was before entry into their box, even then it was a bit hit or miss but with a lot of patience I managed to get them in the right place.

The Great Tit (Parus major) often seen at bird-tables during the winter months, feeds mainly on insects in the summer months. Easily distinguished by the black and white head and light yellow under body.

Taken with camera mounted on my tripod, using a wireless shutter release ( I was stood 150 feet away) and my external flash(Vivtar 283 an old type flash but with very fast recharge times) due to clouds coming and going so the camera was set to manual. Slight cropping to get rid of excess background and a high pass filter (2.1) applied in CS3.

Hello Bill,
Excellent capture of a Great Tit doing justice to one of your garden pests, a daddy longlegs.
The close POV is great and taken with fine sharpness and natural colours against a fine clean BG in a pleasing composition.
The remote shutter release is a good idea!
