[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A first for me this Holly Blue female (Celastrina argiolus) was visiting my Raspberry canes.

It has a wingspan of 30mm, silvery in flight with violet-blue upper-wings which are seldom seen well. At rest showing white, black dotted under-wings.

Seen mainly in S England and Wales. It has two broods, flying April-May, laying it eggs on holly and August-September then laying its eggs on ivy.

Photo has been cropped about 45%, slight high pass filter 1.2 applied.

Thanks for viewing.

Hallo William
These tiny butterflies are always a delight to look at, your Holly Blue female no exception. I like the clarity of the zebra striped antennas and the point of view showing the butterfly's full profile from the side. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
