[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I managed to get out yesterday with the camera, made my way down to the river and spotted this Wren busy looking for food. I watched as it scurried around like a mouse on steroids, shooting off about 100 shots. This one of the better ones, where it's fully out of the undergrowth.

Wrens are well loved and well-known, tiny birds which survive in the darkest, dankest places underneath brambles and fallen logs, amongst piles of flowerpots and old garden equipment, anywhere a where a spider or two may be hiding. Even in the hardest of winter weather, wrens search the same old places ignoring food put out by humans.
The occasion bad winter can kill thousands of them, which makes their numbers plummet. A few good years later and their numbers seem to recover. This one seems to found a little niche for itself down by the river bank.

They also tend to roost together in nest boxes, as many as twenty have be known to share a box together

Taken on a grey day, cropped about 60%, adjusted levels.

Thanks for viewing.
