Hi Jannie,
You took a beautiful photo here. Nice place into the diagonal.
Your flower is from genus Echinops, Compositae family. I can't tell you for sure wich specie it is, because I have info only on Romanian species and those are not ranging to UK. Looks similar with Echinops sphaerocephalus.
Regards, Petru

Hi Jannie,
Sorry I can't help with the ID. The composition and framing look great. Looks like your fill flash gave a very good exposure. The colors are well saturated and beautiful. Very nice detail with good control on the DOF. Looks great!

Nice shot Jannie with good detail and color..Perhaps the composition is a bit tight right. Just an opinion. Well done.

I too would have never guessed it's name, but I know that I admire the work put into this shot, good coloring and clarity.
Hi Jannie unfortunatly I can help with the identiefication of this beautifully captured flower.
it is Echinops ritro and is more than likely Echinops ritro "Veitch's Blue" this of course would make it a domestic hybrid which by the rule of the site is not allowed and you would need to move it to one of the other trek sites, Treklens is where it is usual to post domestic animals and flowers as a more open posting policy applies there.
sorry about this, if you have anyquestions please feel free too ask Adam or my self .

Jannie, the shot is nice. There is some overexposure upon the branch (?) of the flower, but this is a great image.
I like the dark bg - and the flower is very beautiful. Excellent colors.

Hola Jannie: It is a plant with exotic design. You captured the variation of the tones that gives an exquisite dynamism to the composition, perfectly this to remind to my the designs of some artificial lights, he form of their petals to seem that of the roses. Saludos Cordiales. *Ninfa Urania*
