The Fleet and Chesil Beach are situated on the coast of south west Dorset, between Portland and Abbotsbury. The Chesil Beach is a simple linear, shingle storm beach which links the Isle of Portland with the mainland. This pebble and cobble feature is joined to the mainland at Abbotsbury 13km from its start at Chiswell. The beach continues joined to the mainland for a further 6.5km to West Bexington. From Ferrybridge to Abbotsbury Chesil Beach is backed by the shallow, tidal Fleet lagoon. The Fleet is 13km long and varies in width from 65m -900m, covering 500ha (1200 acres) at high tide.

Thanks for looking and you comments
Have a great weekend
Regards
Mike

A great pov, I'm always drawn to rowing boats. The sky and sunset are incredible.
I would probably be tempted to clone the steps out on the left as I (personally) find them quite distracting, and sea isn't quite straight - just minor nits though.
I think this is a great image but a part of me thinks it may be more appropriate on TrekLens.
Thanks for posting.

Hello Michael
This is a great photo with beautiful sky and colors.
Maybe the photo was better with the complete vessels in the picture. Now it looks like you cut off /crop your photo.

Well done and greetings, Jan-Arie

Wow Michael!
Very artfully done! Beautiful shot!
I love how you composed it with the boats and mountain!
Very nice!
Thanks,
Dave

Wow, super picture. Wonderful foreground and wonderful background and great curve to draw one into the picture. Lighting in all parts is perfect. I personally prefer that the boats are cropped. I think it would feel more static if the whole boats were there. As it is they point directly to the rays of the setting sun. Otherwise they would dominate the composition...at least that is my humble opinion. : ) Thanks

Beautiful! The colors are a dream!

Hi Mike, glad to see this one featured and it's a beauty. The stormy clouds with the sunset, beach, mountains and boats makes a wonderful composition. I like the rays of the sun under the clouds and the slight glow of the sun on the boats. Great job!
Eileen
