[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A member of the thrush family and a symbol of Christmas, the Robin (Erithacus rubecula), is common in the UK. This one was photographed in a local nature reserve Forge Valley earlier this year (I've been in exile a while since I dropped the lens pack :-( ) The bird breeds in woodland, gardens, parks and on the forest edge easily recognised by the red breast and and thin long legs. It sometimes ruffles feathers to look bigger but is quite slim and compact.
It eats insects, snails and worms and any amount of sunflower seeds and peanuts you can give it.
It's on many a christms card often depicted in the snow it has no fear of. It's the subject of fokelore and reminds me of my mum who when asked how she knew anything would always point to the robin in the garden and say " a little bird told me"

Happy healthy Christmas to everyone

Excellent shot! I just love this little bird, but don't have any here. Super color and focus.

Well done Jax. Excellent shot with good detail and good colours.
Happy Christmas

A very attractive picture of this robin. They come close to homes now, and their presence is a nice symbol. Your note explains it very well. Very good colors and feathers details and perfect DOF, as it blurrs a bit the background who could have been distractive otherwise. Well done, Jax. Happy Xmas to you too.

Hi Jax, I love to see these Robin Redbreasts as we do not have them in NZ. I am surprised that their breasts are orange and not red, or is this a different type? This is an excellent shot and the little fellow stands out so clearly on the path. TFS, Janice

Very good pic Jax!
The bird is sharp and clear and the colors are great, but try to use Neat Image to clean the pic of noise!

Fantastic capture of my favorite bird. Its little red breast really looks magnificent here. Super stuff.

Beautiful shot Jax. Nice colours and superb pose.
I can only say I would like to see bigger, taking advantage of the 800 pixels TN offers you.

Great portrait Jax.
Very good details, a nice composition and great colours.
Very good DOF and good note.
Great work.

Really great photo.
It properly shows this cute little bird.
He looks so self confident - this pose and eyes.
I saw it first time in Poland about 2 years ago and I was very happy when he decide to stay in my garden.
I don't know why, but I just can't dislike him. It always reminds me about Christmas and about England too.

Well done and thanks for posting.
Merry Christmas to you.

Hi Jax, you know what? No matter how many times I see these or a shot of them I chuckle at their legs! They are like cocktail sticks. Very nice shot, lovely details and colours. Well done.
