Just a quick photo for today - another from the archives....

Loch Rannoch on a foggy day. I was there on holiday at Easter and one misty start to the day, I saw a gap in the mist and this was what I caught... I wanted to show that even on the most unlikely of days...

It was one of those mornings when you sat there thinking what on earth is there to photo - why even bother getting the camera out. And then came a slight gap in the clouds. On the standard lens, it wasn't worth getting the camera out, but on the bigger lens, on full zoom, zooming in on the only patch of anything other than cloud, a much better scene was spotted (even if everyone else didn't see it and could not for the life of them work out what it was I was photoing).

Converted from RAW, increase brightness and contrast. Cropped, resized and border added.

Thanks for Looking - Emma

PS have a laugh - I was standing on the patio in my dressing down and bare feet taking this photo - the neighbours thought I was mad... The others from this series are in my photos on page 3.

One of my most liked places. Never saw it like this though. So to see this is really nice. Just Perfect!

This is fantastic! A 'broken mist' dawn shot is definitely high on my list of prioities!
Great contrast, and I like the way the foreground is completely empty, adding to the moodiness and mystery of the scene.

What a lovely picture Emma! The mist is perfect and gives the photo a great atmosphere. Wonderful! I wish I could have seen the large version. Well done & TFS!

Wonderful shot, Emma. The panorama format is particularly wonderful here. Great composition and exposure. My person preference, though I don't know what else is there, would be a bit more space at the top and less at the bottom. Though it's still a favorite!
P.S. So you're NOT mad then? ;-)

Mysterious, yet peaceful at the sametime. Lovely.

Hi Emma!
I really like this picture and the format... probably I'd see nothing in that situation and I'd stay at home in my bed... Instead you saw this fiabesque landscape!!
Thanks, enrico.
