|A follow-up image to yesterdays post from Twycross Zoo of the Meerkats (Suricata suricatta), "Somebody to Watch Over Me", this is the guy in the BG of yesterdays image, doing his most important job of watching out for danger for the rest of the group. Seen here on a chopped off tree in the centre of his enclosure which is the highest point, in the wild it would probably be a dead tree or Termite mound any thing that would give him a clear veiw of both the sky and surrounding ground, because though small Meekats are considered a favourite food of a lot of preditors so they need to be warey the whole time they are above ground, they breed and sleep in a series of tunnels under ground where they are fairly safe. In the wild the watcher uses different sounds for different dagers so that the rest of the group know where the trouble is coming from and keep an eye out in that directions as they make a boult for the safty of they tunnels.|

haha, that's so cute, I like the backside here with the cute face from the side.
Also a pretty colourful BG without disturbing from this nice guy, thanks
