Macroglossum stellatarum for the scientifically inclined.
This is the first time I have seen one of these moths and managed to get a shot of this one feeding from the buddleia in my garden last night.
They are (apparently) quite common in summer months through much of the UK, but migrate south since they can't survive our cold winters.
