Hemiscorpius lepturus is one of the two scorpions that are the most dangerous species causing both deaths and serious mortality in Iran, according to reports.

The habitat is desert and dry low-altitude rocky steps in South and South-western Iran.

Its known as "Death Scorpion" in south of Iran.
