[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Great White Pelican, Pelecanus onocrotalus
(if I'm not mistaken)
One of two Rose Pelikans(most probably) living in a Tehran Park(Park-e Mellat). Both of them were enthusiastically fishing stuff from the water, obviously not for food but for "fun". They even chased each other.
I cannot find any good info on the web, but as always there's Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelican
The pictures all came out rather well-exposed and surprisingly clear, but I liked this one best, because of the expession of the bird itself. I know the cropped area is bothering...
A long time since my last post, but I was looking for something "quality" to up. I hope you like it!

It is no doubt unusuall shot because of the cropping, POV and lighting, but I think that makes it very interesting. It has great mood, perfect quality and exposure.
Usually cutting birds beak is a big "sin", but your photo looks really good framed like that.
I like it very much.
VERY WELL DONE!
Hi Sam
Interesting point of view. The light/shadow effect is excellent. Good crisp details of the water drops. Good work. TFS
Hi Sam,
I think the strong contrasting light works well here. Deep shadow to bright sunlight across this shot. The detail and colors look good. Thetight crop also works well for this shot.
