A dormant volcano with a narrow summit. Location Alborz Mountains, Iran. Height 5671.
Mount Damāvand has its own special place in Iranian mythology and folklore. In Zoroastrian texts and mythology, the three-headed dragon Aži Dahāka was chained within Mount Damāvand, there to remain until the end of the world. In a later version of the same legend, the tyrant Zahhāk was also chained on some cave in mount Damāvand after being defeated by Kāveh and Fereydūn. Damāvand is also significant to the patriotic Iranian legend of Arash.
Damāvand was climbed by Iranians thousands of years ago, by shepherds and such.
The great tenth-century Iranian poet, Firdausi, relates in his epic “Shahnama” how the tyrant Zohak is overthrown by the young Feridun and imprisoned in chains to die in a cavern on the slops of Damavand.

Bravo, Saeed.
What a nice choice of scene for shooting and POV. Bewitching combination of alive and delicate flowers and cold and severe mountain. Technique of execution is outstanding. Lighting, colours, details, cropping – all this is simply perfect. You a really great artist, my dear friend. My compliments and TFS.

Salam Saeed,
Very scenic landscape. Purple flowers at FG are really great, combined with snowy peak of the vulcano at BG.

Ricardo

Very beautiful composition my friend with aesthetic point of view capturing the flowers in a forefront of the imposing volcano of bottom.
The intense colors and brightness obtained are really very pleasant with excellent focus and appropriate framing ... only I would criticize the thickness of the frame, but it is a personal opinion.
My best regards... Ricardo

Hello Saeed,
I saw many pictures of Damavand before, but here you created a new "Best of".
The picture is perfect (composition, foreground, snow, clear weather etc.). The frame around is not necessary (but it does no harm to the pic either). Congratulations! Thanks for showing.
Cheers, Dietrich
