[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This Plain Tiger/African Monarch (Danaus chrysippus) is a migrant butterfly that displays warning colors of black and orange because of its bitter and nocuous taste.
Its distribution is from Africa to India, Japan and Australia. In Israel it can be found during the summer in places in which its host plants can be found.
The butterfly in the picture its a male. In the back wing, the male has another black stain (bigger than the other 3 stains). From this stain the male secrete a pheromone wich call the females for copulation.

Wing span: about 75 m"m.
Host plants: different Milkweeds.

Hi Oz Ben,
Gorgeous macro with fine details. Probably a bit tighter crop at right and the bottom might make the composition even more attractive. Just a personal opinion, obviously, the photo's good.
Have a nice Christmas, kind regards, László
