And today Ophrys holosericea, the Late Spider Orchid, which is quite similar to O. bornmuelleri I showed yesterday. They quite often hybridize. The flower is quite large for an Ophrys ("Bee Orchid"), with the lip about 12-14 mm in length. The pattern on the lip is quite diverse in the population.

A superb macro of this species of Ophrys flower Ishi.
The technical standard is top with the features of the flower shown from a perfect POV with excellent sharpness, DOF and natural colours. Excellent use of flash!

La saison des orchidées a bien débité, me semble-t-il en Israël ; en Bourgogne le froid est revenu et elles sont encore très rares au point d'en avoir photographié trois cet après midi mais que je ne peux pas publier !!!
