Ophrys galilea + pollinator
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Here is is the local variant of the Yellow Bee Orchid (Ophrys lutea) with its pollinator, possibly an Andrena bee species. The WS shows the same, where the bee is in the mock-coppulating position (the image is not as clear, though). By mimicking female insects, orchids lure males to try to copulate with them, thus transferring pollen sacks (pollinia) from flower to flower. each orchid has its own specific pollinator. |

Bonsoir Ishi,
Très belle scène de la vie sauvage avec cette agréable macro, malgré le cadrage un peu trop serré à droite, finement détaillée et délicatement colorée.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
