[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hervé’s posting of Anchusa crispa yesterday (www.treknature.com/gallery/photo242175.htm) prompted me to show our very blue Anchusa azurea ("Italian bugloss"), with many flowers, about 5 mm in diameter. The tuft of white bristles surrounding the stamen and pistil is to prevent nectar thieves such as small ants from reaching the nectaries without pollinating the flower.

Shalom Ishi,
A striking capture of these incredibly blue Anchusa flowers. The colours are obviously not over-saturated and the sharpness and composition are excellent.

Hello Ishi,
Lovely to see another macro of these pretty bright blue flowers, although a different species from Herve's. Excellet details and wonderful colours. On the whole I love blue flowers, they're not as plentiful as yellow and pink ones. Here in th wild we have plenty of bluebells at the moment and in the garden I'm proud to have a Gentian in flower!
