This isone of the early flowers to bloom, after our long dry summer, and before the first enter rains. The leaves will appear later in the season, as with many of thesis early bloomers.

Ishi, I love these cold weather beauties coming out of the earth without any leaves at this time of the year. Somehow makes me think it is the rocks that have given birth to these beautiful yellow flowers.
