[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Glaucopsyche alexis, the Green-Underside Blue, is a rare species in Israel, found in the north, only above 800 m above sea level. The local sub-species is quite different from the European one, much closer to the Central Asian subspecies, It is shown here in a posture, which allows identification by its spot-less green-bluish rear wings, of about 15 mm wingspan. It is shown here on a closed Moraea sisyrinchium flower, a common iris species. |

Hi Ishi. This small butterfliy has a very strong blue colour which you close up shows with fine detail. I like your side view so we can see the markings. With a good POV/DOF. well done TFS.
Nick..
Hello Ishi.
Very beautiful butterfly, and the composition of the image. In the workshop, removed and improved noise levels.

Hej Ishi,
What a beautiful butterfly with the metallic blue scales glistening in the light! Excellent capture from a nice angle and against a fine soft background. The colour of the Iris bud matches nicely too!
The weather is stormy and dull here at the moment - hopefully it'll be better tomorrow so that I can capture some of the lovely flowers that are out here now.
TFS and all the best wishes, Ulla
It's a wonderfull picture, a good light and sharpness. I like the bokeh too. Congratulations!
