[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While most crocuses will bloom here after the first rains of autumn (our rainy season is autumn-winter), we found several specimens already on the very dry slopes of one of highest peaks of Mt. Hermon (the southernmost extension of the Anti-Lebanon range), at an elevation of about 2200 m. This one is Crocus pallasii, distinguished by its three club-like stigmas. The petals are about 25 mm long.
