[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Trifolium campestre is one of the commonest annual trefoils of the Mediterranean region. Thousands of annuals evolved around the Mediterranean where they grow one besides the other. Up to half of the Mediterranean flora (and sometimes more) is annual. This is why many evolution research projects are held in this region. If u look at the corolla, u can see that it doesn't wilt, it curves down and seves later as a wing for the seed wind-disperal.

Hi Ori.
Wonderful flower and superb quality of the shot with stunning small aperture value, great wide DOF and terrific sharpness and details of all components of the plant. Colours and combination of sharpness/blurriness also are amazing. Bravo and TFS.

Excellent lighting, DOF, exposure and detail.
Beautifully taken.
Interesting on the seed wind-disperal off the corolla that does not wilt serving as a wing, I suppose the wing helps it spread wider out rather than just falling straight down. Being an annual, the further the seed can spread the larger the ground covered.

Hi Ori,

Interesting note and a wonderful close-up of this flower. Here in the mid-western US, native annual flowers are fairly rare, almost all of our native plants are perennials, so I find the annuals from other parts of the world to be a bit exotic. In the south-western US where we have desert, annuals are much more common, as one would expect.
