[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a rare, late-blooming orchid from the higher peaks of the Galilee region in Israel. Note the "lizard tongue" of its flowers. In this image the two "tongues" (labia) are almost parallel, referring to the "affine" in the species name.

I insist on taking my flower pix without flash to show them in their natural light. This may cause some loss of detail, to be left to my botanist friends.

Good photo of Himmantoglossum affine. I have never seen this species in nature, only another species - H. adriaticum and H. hircinum.
