Quite amazing the abundance of insects and flowers that can be found on Mt Miron in the spring. I came across this eyecatching bug and I purposely caught it centered as I must admit I really liked the 3D effect the thistle gave.

I need your help here people as I don't know the name of the bug or the type of thistle.

Hello David,
Very nice specimen of the Pentatomidae Family (Stink Bugs, I couldn't help more with the ID), with an unusual effect on the thistle. Very well done and brilliant colours. Best regards,
Catherine

Hello David,
A superb sharp macro of a fire-coloured bug at the centre of a thistle flower. The exact focusing on the bug to leave the thistle OOF emphsises the bug beautifully, as well as putting an aura round it, so the central composition is just right.
A very fine image and thanks for sharing it,
Regards, Ivan

Hello David,
This is an excellent shot and a unique one too. The DOF in this shot is creating that stunning 3D effect. Excellent work. Looking at the thumbnail in the gallery I had no hopes that the subject in this picture is going to be this sharp. Great colors and POV.

Cheers!!

Hola David, muy buen macro, una toma con buena nitidez y detalle. el fondo acompaña para destacar el motivo. Particularmente hubiera descentrado el motivo(solo es una opinión). Un saludo

Hi David
Yes I agree many would have scoffed at the idea of getting your aubject centred in a time and age where compositons can be as unconventional as they can get..even i have a problem looking at just centralised subjects...but in this compositon the bug coul have been anywhere else other than where you got it ..right at the centre....this is an amzing cpature that you done with gret skill...the idea truly reached its logical success after you froze the bug in this great PoV. The BG and the shape of the base certainlky gives on a 3D effect and th bug has been caught with tack sharp focus, fine details and excellent focus.Very well done.,.into my favourites.

TFS &Cheers

Hi Dave,
I like this one a lot - the bug is excellent and the plant behind creates an incredible 3D effect!
Love it !
