I posted several months ago a picture of the same plant without flash and forgot about this one. Orchis israelitica (=Anacamptis israelitica) is a small endemic species of Northern Israel (Galilee)and probably southern Lebanon. In Israel it is frequent, growing in typical Mediterranean open scrub. It is blooming usually in early March.
