[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Onopordum blancheanum is another beautiful Cotton Thistle of the Mediterranean areas in Israel. It grows especially in basalt soils in the Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights, where this specimen was photographed last May. The stalks are up to 50 cm tall; the flower-heads are up to 4 cm in diameter. The color is deep purple. The species is named after C.I. Blanche, the French Consul to Tripoli, Lebanon, and an avid plant collector in the mid 19th century. |

WOW... what color... the passion of purple but not without the pain of thorns. It has, to me, some meaning for my faith. TFS

Bonjour Ishi,
C'est encore une remarquable macro même si, à cause certainement de l'éclairage, elle na pas l'éclat de ta précédente publication florale.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
