|The blue dragonfly, Orthetrum chrysostigma (Lebellulidae), is one of the most common dragonflies in Israel. The family is characterized by large eyes touching each other. The males of the genus are covered by a blue dusting, while the females and young are yellow. The body is up to 45 mm long. This dragonfly is well adapted to dry conditions and is very common in Africa. it reaches east, all the way to Afghanistan. This specimen was photographed on the northern shores of the Sea of Galilee in a wet area. The plant is Juncus acutus (Juncaceae), a very common bog plant in our land.|

I don't think I've seen this species before! It's very beautiful covered in powder blue. Lovely blue eyes too and I like the way the light catches the wings. A splendid capture against a fine dark background.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla
