Mt. Hermon the southern-most and the highest part and the Anti-Lebanon mountain range. ‘Anti' here means ‘opposite', as that mountain range is parallel to the Lebanon Mountains range, which is closer to the Med. Sea.
The Anti-Lebanon mountains have a number of endemic species, including Colchicum antilibanoticum,shown here. These flowers were all captured at 1500 m a.s.l., last Tuesday, Nov. 14, which happened to be Luciano's birthday. Buon compleanno, Luciano!

I saw Mt Hermon from a distance when I visited Israel, thanks to you I get to see one of its beautiful flowering plants. A top quality image and a gorgeous species of plant.

What a beauty...I remember the "brothers" of this specie rising in autumn in several mountain regions in my country. They are superb flowers and the most interesting images are those taken against the sunlight....
