Sphodromantis viridis or African Mantis can be observed in Israel during May-September. This 'visitor' was staying around our house during a couple of months and it was always available for photo sessions.

This is a very nice close-up presenting a very good quality portrait of mantis species. I like DOF and details, also the POV is very good.
But I have a question to the English name. Why "Carolina praying mantis" if it is known from Africa and Middle East?
