This kingfisher is beautiful, very lovely colours. Very interesting action shot - caught it in the middle of lunch :) Excellent depth of field and composition, and a good amount of light. Nice textures captured in the bird's feathers.

Hi Eyal

What i nice composition of this Kingfisher. I think it's great because of the meal (a shrimp?) Great colours and details. Good DoF, so you got a nice and soft background.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Eyal,

As usual an exquisite picture. Your subjects are always so original and technically close to perfection that are difficult to comment. Very good idea to focus on the little shrimp it makes the difference. TFS

Regards, Mario

Excellent capture, however image is washed out. Looks like the back is OEed big time, the feathers should be a deep blue.
Good focus on the eye and shrimp.

Hi Eyal,
You've captured a very good predator-prey relationship with your nice composition which is adequately in focus and shows the colors to perfection, well done (by the way, the specific name should read "smyrnensis").

Hallo Eyal
You lucky fish, having a job as a wildlife photographer. I think plenty of people including my husband and I will give our front teeth to be in your situation. My first posting on Trek Nature was that of a kingfisher, and ever since my eyes tend to search for the different types of kingfishers. You think when you see one you have seen them all, but every time another one pops up, and you change your mind. I really like the sapphire blue stripe of feathers in the middle of this bird's back, and the way you have managed to capture it emphasize that even more. A lovely close up, well presented and worth a smiley. I also hope for the day Ill be able to photograph a kingfisher or any other bird with some kind of food or insect in its mouth. That is always a plus for me in a photo. Thanks for sharing. It was lovely to look at.
Kind regards
Anna
